Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 September 2026
This policy explains how Puza Games (“we”, “us”) processes personal data on the Tales of Ember website at talesofember.com. The game client and game API are separate products and may have their own notices at api.talesofember.com/privacy.
Who is responsible
Puza Games is the controller for this website. You can reach us at hello@talesofember.com, through our Discord community, or on X. Please mention “privacy” so we can route the request.
What we collect
- Card ratings. If you take part, we store the nickname you choose, your 1–5 scores for card names and art, and timestamps. Community results are public; other voters are shown as anonymous labels such as “Voter 1”. Named votes stay available to site operators for moderation and analysis.
- Preferences on your device. When you use Rate Cards we store your nickname and last faction on this device so a refresh does not ask you to sign in again.
- Admin accounts. Editors who sign in provide an email, username, and password (stored hashed). Session cookies keep them signed in.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process IP addresses, security logs, and similar traffic data to operate and protect the site.
- Content you submit. News, decks, or other tools may store what you publish through those features.
Why we process it
We process this data to:
- run the website and keep it secure (legitimate interests);
- collect community feedback on card names and art, with your consent;
- keep your Rate Cards nickname on this device after you enter it;
- meet legal obligations if we receive a valid request from authorities.
Cookies and similar storage
See our Cookie Policy for the list of cookies, local storage, and how to change your choice.
How long we keep it
Card ratings stay until you ask us to delete them or we retire the feature. Preference cookies last up to one year. Admin sessions last until you sign out or the session expires. Security logs follow our host’s standard retention.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. Hosting, storage, and delivery run on Cloudflare (including Workers, D1, and R2). Those processors may process data in the United States and other countries with appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your rights (EEA/UK and similar laws)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. On this site you can delete your card ratings from the rating tool, or contact us to exercise other rights.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 16. Do not submit a nickname or ratings if you are under 16 (or the digital-consent age in your country) unless a parent or guardian has agreed.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of the website after an update means you should review the new text.
